White Oak Coffee Table

Using the leftovers from my previous White Oak Round Table, I was able to scrounge together enough wood to make a second tabletop for a small coffee table.

The scrap wood had some imperfections, so I used some epoxy resin to fill the voids.

I used a MIG welder and some steel square tubing to make a frame which I then spray painted with a hammered black finish. The hardest part about welding this frame was keeping everything straight as the heat from the welder tends to pull the metal out of square. I can't say it turned out perfect, but the imperfections were not noticeable once everything was assembled. The oak surface was finished with multiple sanded coats of satin polyurethane.
